CHARLIE ANGEL AND BILL LARKWORTHY were preclinical medical students at what is now Plymouth University in South-West England. Charlie qualified in Edinburgh and Bill in London,
long, long ago.
Charlie Angel is retired from doctoring and lives in Perth, Australia -- Bill retired to Provence in the south of France.
They never met again but Charlie wrote to Bill some 10 years ago and recounted the story of an occasion when they were virile young men playing rugby for their college and Bill scored a magnificent drop-goal,
which surprised everybody, including Bill. They have maintained contact but now separated by thousands of miles and both in their dotage it seems unlikely that contact in person can be resumed.
HOWEVER, CHARLIE RECENTLY read Bill's book,'DOCTOR LARK- the benefits of a medical education' and commented in a letter to Bill --
"YOUR BOOK 0F MEMOIRS WAS OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD. The best memoirs by a medical man that I ever read, best by a million miles."
Such praise is indeed gratifying and greatly valued alongside the many 5-star reviews on Amazon.
